What is CCB for Work Permit Holders?
Temporary residents on work permits can qualify for CCB, but not immediately. CRA generally requires 18 months of residence in Canada and a valid permit in the 19th month.
Do I Qualify?
- You must meet the caregiver and tax-residency rules for CCB
- You generally must have lived in Canada for the previous 18 months
- You must hold a valid permit in the 19th month
- Refugee claimants follow different rules and are not treated the same as work-permit holders
How Much Can I Get?
Once eligible, the amount is calculated using the ordinary CCB formula based on child ages and adjusted family net income.
